Ford Ranger OBDII Tuning Update: Dimsport Adds SID212 Support

Dimsport Adds OBDII Support for Continental SID212 ECUs (Ford Ranger, Everest, Transit)

Dimsport has rolled out a new OBDII protocol for the Continental SID212 ECU, opening up no-unlock recalibration for a range of Ford diesel and EcoBlue models — including the Ford Ranger, one of the most commonly tuned vehicles on Australian roads.

What changed

Announced by Dimsport on 9 June 2026, the update adds full OBDII support for the Continental SID212 ECU via the latest RACE release.

Key detail for workshops: no unlock is required to read or write these ECUs. Recalibration can be done directly through the OBDII port — no unlock procedure, no extra bench time.

Which vehicles are covered

The Continental SID212 ECU is fitted to several Ford 2.0L TDCi and EcoBlue diesel engines:

  • Ford Ranger 2.0L TDCi
  • Ford Everest 2.0L EcoBlue
  • Ford Transit 2.0L TDCi
  • Ford Transit Custom 2.0L TDCi
  • Ford Focus Mk4 2.0L TDCi
  • Ford Mondeo 2.0L TDCi
  • Ford Galaxy 2.0L TDCi

Why it matters here

The Ford Ranger and Everest are among the highest-volume tuning platforms in Australia, so a faster, unlock-free OBDII protocol on the SID212 ECU is a genuinely useful update for local workshops — less bench time, less complexity, and a smoother path from diagnosis to a finished file.
