Alientech Adds BENCH Support for Locked Bosch MD1CP017 ECUs (Jaguar & Land Rover)

Alientech has added KESS3 support for locked Bosch MD1CP017 ECUs fitted to 2021-on Jaguar and Land Rover 2.0 D165 and D200 MHEV diesel applications.

What changed

Announced by Alientech on 9 October 2026 (KESS3 Protocol Release, Upgrade 3.63), the update adds the required BOOT unlock workflow followed by BENCH read and write access.

Key detail for workshops: the ECU must first be unlocked in BOOT mode with the KESS3 Unlock Module. After that, supported operations can be carried out in BENCH without reopening the ECU.

Which vehicles are covered

The release covers Jaguar and Land Rover applications from 2021 onwards using the 2.0-litre D165 and D200 mild-hybrid diesel engines, including the Bosch MD1CP017 ECU platform.

Why it matters here

Late-model Jaguar and Land Rover diesel vehicles are increasingly likely to arrive with protected ECUs and a mild-hybrid system. A controlled unlock followed by direct BENCH access gives workshops a repeatable route for file work and later revisions without treating every job as a fresh ECU-opening exercise.
