Alientech has added KESS3 and Powergate OBD support for the Continental SID208 ECU, opening up diagnostic-port tuning for one of the most common diesel light commercial vehicle platforms on the road — the Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper/Relay.
What changed
Announced by Alientech (KESS3/Powergate Protocol Release, Upgrade 3.40, 5 August 2026), the update adds OBD mode for the Continental SID208 ECU, complementing the BENCH mode that was previously the only option.
Key detail for workshops: reading and writing now works directly through the OBD diagnostic port — previously these ECUs needed BENCH mode, which meant more disassembly and more bench time per job.
Which vehicles are covered
The Continental SID208 ECU is fitted to 2.2 HDi and 2.2 Multijet diesel light commercial vehicles produced from 2011 onward:
- Fiat Ducato
- Peugeot Boxer
- Citroën Jumper
- Citroën Relay
Why it matters here
The Ducato/Boxer/Jumper/Relay platform (it’s the same van underneath three badges) is a fleet workhorse in Australia — tradies, couriers and hire fleets run these in serious numbers.
