Alientech has added KESS3 BENCH support for Bosch ECM4 ECUs used in late-model Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks, giving workshops direct read/write access from the ECU connector without opening the control unit.
What changed
Announced by Alientech on 4 September 2026 (KESS3 Protocol Release, Upgrade 3.52), the update adds BENCH support for Bosch ECM4 ECUs fitted to major 13L heavy-duty engine platforms, including Renault DE13/DE13TC, Volvo D13/D13T/D13TC/D16K and Mack MP8.
Key detail for workshops: BENCH mode gives direct connector access for reading and writing, without needing to open the ECU casing.
Which vehicles are covered
- Mack Anthem, Granite, Pinnacle and TerraPro
- Renault C, K, T and T-High
- Volvo FH, FH Aero, FM, FMX, FH16, FH16 Aero, VNL, VNR, VNX, VHD and VAH
Why it matters here
Heavy-duty vehicles are high-value workshop jobs where downtime matters. Direct BENCH access on ECM4 gives truck-focused tuners and repairers a cleaner path for ECU backup and programming on recent Renault, Volvo and Mack platforms.
