Alientech has added OBD support for Bosch MED17.3.5 ECUs on the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, giving KESS3 and Powergate users direct diagnostic-port access on the 2.9 V6 Twin Turbo performance models.
What changed
Announced by Alientech on 11 September 2026 (KESS3 Protocol Release, Upgrade 3.54), the update adds OBD read and write support for the Bosch MED17.3.5 ECU fitted to Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio models from 2016 onwards.
Key detail for workshops: KESS3 already supported these ECUs by BENCH and BOOT; this release adds faster OBD access through the diagnostic port, with Powergate support for remote end-user workflows.
Which vehicles are covered
- Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
- Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio
The supported vehicles use the 2.9 V6 Twin Turbo petrol engine with Bosch MED17.3.5 management.
Why it matters here
The Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio sit in the high-performance end of the Alfa range, where owners often expect a cleaner workshop process and repeatable file updates. OBD access makes follow-up calibration changes quicker than returning to BENCH or BOOT every time.
